Compete for Scholarships and Cash Prizes
Open to currently enrolled college and high school students in Utah. Submissions close October 20th and the winners will be announced at the summit.
College students: Step into the role of a Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) and pitch a campaign for Utah’s next tourism hotspot. Entrants will choose a location and research nearby tourism activities and find local businesses to partner with while looking into opportunities for economic development and building a digital marketing strategy.
Using their findings, entrants will create and submit a 10-minute video presentation of their proposed marketing strategy filled with data driven insights and exciting opportunities. Click here for a full description and submission guidelines.

- 1st place $2,000
- 2nd place $1,500
- 3rd place $1,000

High school students: Take on the challenge of planning a dream Utah destination vacation as a travel agent. With a budget of $3,000 to plan a three-day, two-night vacation for a party of four, to any destination in Utah.
Research destinations, accommodations, activities, meals, and transportation options and compile a four-page report including the planning process, a complete itinerary, budget documentation and key highlights. Click here for a full description and submission guidelines.
Travel Agent Competition Prizes:
- 1st place $1,000 Scholarship to the University of Utah PLUS the winning Utah dream vacation, all expenses paid!
- 2nd-5th place will each receive a $1,000 University of Utah Scholarship.
