About David S. Marriott
David S. Marriott is Chairman of the Board of Marriott International, the world’s largest hospitality company, with more than 9,900 properties across 146 countries and territories.
A University of Utah graduate, David has spent more than 25 years in executive leadership, overseeing hotel operations, finance, human resources, sales and marketing, information resources, and development for hundreds of Marriott properties. Throughout his career, he has served in numerous leadership positions, including Chief Operations Officer, President of U.S. Full Service Managed by Marriott, and Senior Vice President of Global Sales.
Beyond Marriott, David serves as a trustee of the National Geographic Society and The J. Willard & Alice S. Marriott Foundation. In 2025, the J. Willard and Alice S. Marriott Foundation made a landmark $25 million donation to establish the J.W. Marriott, Jr. Institute at the University of Utah, furthering its commitment to developing the next generation of hospitality leaders.
