Table for Four: The business of crafting meaningful experiences

October 2 @ 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm

Incredible experiences and core memories don’t simply happen; they’re artfully crafted with intention and care. This Table for Four brings together four professionals who know what it takes to bring people together, lead teams, understand audiences, and turn ideas into experiences worth remembering

Maddie Heywood — Director of Event Operations, Thanksgiving Point

As Director of Event Operations at Thanksgiving Point, Maddie leads multiple departments and oversees the execution of everything from weddings and corporate gatherings to major public events like Luminaria, the Tulip Festival, and Garden of Quilts. With a background in hospitality management and event planning, Maddie has built her career around bringing people together and turning big ideas into memorable experiences. She describes her role as “being a manager of chaos”—a fitting perspective for anyone interested in the fast-paced world of events.

Mauricio Lopez — Executive Chef, Asher Adams

As Executive Chef at Asher Adams, Mauricio oversees all culinary operations, including restaurants, bars, banquets, catering, and in-room dining. With more than 16 years in hospitality, Mauricio has grown from starting in the industry in El Salvador to leading a culinary program supporting more than $14 million in annual food and beverage revenue. His career offers insight into culinary leadership, financial performance, guest experience, and—most importantly—how strong teams and a culture of trust can create exceptional experiences.

Kyle Schroeder — VP of Community & Player Engagement, Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals & Real Monarchs

As VP of Community & Player Engagement, Kyle works at the intersection of professional athletes, fans, and the broader community. His career offers students a look at how hospitality skills like understanding your audience, building relationships, and creating meaningful experiences can translate into the sports industry.
