The Hospitality on Campus Program is a competitive, paid internship opportunity for University of Utah students who are passionate about hospitality and service leadership. Through a semester-based rotational model, interns gain hands-on experience across multiple campus hospitality operations, developing practical skills, professional confidence, and a deeper understanding of how hospitality shapes exceptional experiences.

Designed for students eager to learn by doing, the program exposes interns to a variety of roles while fostering strong mentorship, professional development, and real-world problem solving — all within a dynamic campus environment.

Program Overview

The Hospitality on Campus Program allows students to rotate through different campus-based hospitality operations over multiple semesters. Each rotation offers meaningful responsibility, exposure to diverse teams, and opportunities to apply hospitality principles in real service environments.

Students commit to a minimum of two semester-long rotations, allowing them to build both breadth and depth of experience while developing transferable skills applicable to hospitality and customer-facing careers across industries. This opportunity is an hourly paid position and typically pay between $14-$18 per hour with time commitments of 15-19 hours per week.

As a Hospitality on Campus intern, you may gain experience in areas such as:
Guest Services
Be the friendly face that welcomes guests to campus. This role is perfect for building confidence, communication skills, and real-world hospitality experience.
Event Coordination
Get hands-on experience supporting events from planning to execution at one of Utah’s most iconic venues while learning how everything comes together behind the scenes.
Banquet logistics
Work as part of a team to support catered events across campus while delivering great service. This role builds teamwork, time management, and guest service skills in a fast-paced environment.
